Letter thanking Langlé for some passages that he had sent Gossec, containing both flattery and criticism. Mentions a dispute about composition between Gossec and a Portuguese monk. On the bottom of the page, Langlé notes the details of this dispute, which involved the monk challenging Gossec to compose something on a bass line which he proposed.
